External Client Project - Adonia Hair & Beauty

A number of people have shown interest in being my external client for this project. However, I have decided to work with Tina Gregory, the owner and manager of Adonia, a Hair & Beauty salon in my hometown of Grimsby.

Several days ago, I visited the salon to meet the employees and gain an understanding of the website requirements. This was my first time meeting the team, so it was a bit nerve-wracking at first, but they were so friendly and outgoing! It was all good :)

Together, Tina and I worked together to complete the following brief, provided by the Tutor:

Creative Brief for: Adonia Hair & Beauty
Brief drawn up by: Tina Gregory

Company Employee Contact Details: [who is the main person the student will be working with? Name, email, phone, Website/social media details?]

Name: Tina Gregory
Email: Tina.Gregory-Adonia@hotmail.com
Mobile: 07977682555
Address: Adonia Hair & Beauty, Littlefield Lane Grimsby
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/adonia.hairbeauty

Project Objectives: To design and implement a modern, clean website, for Adonia Hair & Beauty, with the prime aim of offering public service.

Background overview:

Adonia Hair & Beauty is a successful beauty salon based in Grimsby, Lincolnshire and has been running for almost two years. The salon is owned and run by Tina Gregory, but also employs two other beauticians.

Adonia specialises in hair treatments, nail treatments, tanning, waxing & tinting. Offering different services will appeal to a variety of potential customers.

Aims & Objectives: To provide clients with the best professional care and advice
  • To be known as a well-established business
  • To be known for our professional & good quality service

Adonia has made enough returns to open a second salon.

Problems: Owning a small business in a struggling economy is difficult. It is essential to stay competitive – i.e. it is important for the beauticians to know the latest in haircare design and product information.

What is the purpose of the product?

The purpose of the website is to share information and to promote the salon.

It is important that the site provides value to its visitors. In this case, it will provide the user with a greater understanding of our business and a wider perspective on our products and services.

Target Audience: Who are we talking to?

Adonia provides hair maintenance, styling and beauty services to men, women and children of all ages. Although our clients require different services, their needs are the same: i.e. to feel good about their appearance and to be pampered.

What is the single most important thing to say?

“Tina - We are a professional, yet friendly salon with affordable treatments.”

What kind of relationship will you be looking to establish with the student?

Since I am based in Grimsby, and Becky in Nottingham, I have requested regular contact via email and meeting when appropriate. If I am pleased with the finished product, I have asked Becky if it would be possible for her to create another site for my new business Hairbooth.

Other notes: [Any examples of work (yours or others) that might be used for research? Any product guidelines such as colour palette, logo?
Pages to include: Home, About, Services, Team, Prices, Location, Contact plus any others that you think are essential
Also like opening times included
Would like a new logo
Do not have a colour scheme in mind - like the look of black and white websites
Would like the site to include Facebook link
